The Pirates held a successful 3 day residential training camp at St Josephs School, Ukunda from 9th November. Much was achieved during this tough camp. An excellent by product was the bonding that was evident. Several players travel from far to train in Ukunda and this camp gave them to opportunity to really connect with their Ukunda based team mates. The main objective of the camp was to build character within the playing unit, improving physical strength to required standards of the game, building on our skill set and increasing accuracy while fatigued and under pressure.
The camp attracted many of our young players and they learned not only new skills but also the culture of the club and the support and loyalty of the players. These young stars represent the future of the Club. The camp ended with a gruelling 12 km run in the Shimba Hills followed by a few hours relaxation and fun. The Pirates enter the new season being stronger, fitter and more competitive than ever.
